Todays post is about going to Kauai, Hawaii, USA
I have been here several times and it one of my favorite places.

Kauai is referred to as the "Garden Island" because of it's lush vegetation and euphoric ambiance. Kauai is always a great 10 day get-a-way.

When I vacation I like to stay at two different places.

This post is about staying at the 5 Star Grand Hyatt in Poipu and the Plantation Cottages in Waimea.

Generally Speaking This "10 Day Get-A-Way" itinerary 

• Fly directly into Lihue
• Rent a car and spend some time in Lihue
• Head to westside and check into Grand Hyatt in Poipu
• Spend 5 days on the south side , venturing to the north side, especially Hanalei Bay
• Day 6 head to the west side and check into The Plantation Cottages in Waimea.
• Spend 5 days on the west side, especially hangin out in your cottage by the pool next to the beach and a short walk to the on-site beer brewery.

Some day activities while in Kauai...

• Take a helicopter tour on the entire Island
• Go Deep Sea Fishing departing from Lihue or Port Allen
• Take a tour boat up the Na Pali Coast. Great snorkeling, enter sea caves, surreal views of the Na Pali Coast
• Dinner Sunset cruise on big sailing vessels.
• Surf or Stand Up Paddleboarding / Lessons on Poipu or Kalapaki Beach
• Drive up to Princeville have lunch at St. Regis overlooking Hanalei Bay.
• Go down to Hanalei Bay for late afternoon picnic

Kid Friendly Fishing Tours on the "Happy Times", Kauai, Hawaii, USA

Fun for the whole family,

Adventure time is a lifetime memory for you and your child. Kauai sport fishing is a high adventure activity especially when you hook up to a beast like this tuna.

Landing a fish that is taller and weighs more then yourself ... priceless.

A few weeks ago a friend of mine took his son on a fishing "cattle boat" (35 anglers) out of Dana Point, Ca, when a complete stranger knew he had a large tuna on line and and also knew his son had never caught a large fish.... handed the pole to his son and said I'll give you an hour to land this". Forty five minutes later and a very tired boy, dinner was on deck.

The young man was forever "hooked".

Hi Everyone
Big bonito and yellowtail schools are providing really fun surface action on the extended ¾ day trips on the Patriot the last few days with yellowtail from 15-25 pounds and bonito from 3 pounds to over 12 pounds (lots of 8-12 pound fish). Bonito and yellowtail are biting fly lined sardines/mackerel as well as array of surface jigs. These larger bonito are tough fighters maybe the hardest pulling fish pound for pound we catch (and super fast running).
