Todays post is about going to Kauai, Hawaii, USA
I have been here several times and it one of my favorite places.

Kauai is referred to as the "Garden Island" because of it's lush vegetation and euphoric ambiance. Kauai is always a great 10 day get-a-way.

When I vacation I like to stay at two different places.

This post is about staying at the 5 Star Grand Hyatt in Poipu and the Plantation Cottages in Waimea.

Generally Speaking This "10 Day Get-A-Way" itinerary 

• Fly directly into Lihue
• Rent a car and spend some time in Lihue
• Head to westside and check into Grand Hyatt in Poipu
• Spend 5 days on the south side , venturing to the north side, especially Hanalei Bay
• Day 6 head to the west side and check into The Plantation Cottages in Waimea.
• Spend 5 days on the west side, especially hangin out in your cottage by the pool next to the beach and a short walk to the on-site beer brewery.

Some day activities while in Kauai...

• Take a helicopter tour on the entire Island
• Go Deep Sea Fishing departing from Lihue or Port Allen
• Take a tour boat up the Na Pali Coast. Great snorkeling, enter sea caves, surreal views of the Na Pali Coast
• Dinner Sunset cruise on big sailing vessels.
• Surf or Stand Up Paddleboarding / Lessons on Poipu or Kalapaki Beach
• Drive up to Princeville have lunch at St. Regis overlooking Hanalei Bay.
• Go down to Hanalei Bay for late afternoon picnic 
• Eat at Roy's ... now called "Eating House 1849" in Poipu
• Play golf at Kukuiolono Golf Course .. 9 holes, $9 Green Fee, $9 Cart fee, $9 Club Rental

Plantation Cottages

This collection of authentic plantation homes, set in a peaceful, ocean front coconut grove, has been carefully restored with period-inspired furniture and modern conveniences. Every Cottage has a full kitchen and a front porch overlooking the grassy lawn leading to the ocean; each one has a personality and decor all its own.

The basic cost are going to be (flight, hotel, car) about          $5600

If you were to add $400-$500 per day in food, drink, tours
