Making ice in a RV really consumes a lot of energy.
Ice is an important supply that needs to be constantly acquired. Most RVs have some sort of refrigerator / freezer that will make some ice ....but never enough.
Camp stores have it, at a premium price. Big box stores will have it at a reasonable price.
The problem is that you always need more and then some more.
It is always nice to have a ice chest of ice to keep the beverages cold. You need to have a couple of cubes for your to go beverages ...... the list is long.
A camping buddy with lots of solar power showed me his dedicated electric ice maker.
