Blue Whales are in town .... Newport Beach, California.

The giant blue whales have arrived as the start of the annual summer migration into our waters to feed.

Finback whales (second largest whale after the blue whale), humpback whales, and gray whales are also being viewed along with several different types of dolphin. Having so many different types of whales and dolphin being viewed is a real treat for whale watchers. The waters off Newport currently has a amazing amount of krill, red crabs, and all types of smaller fish creating sightings of whales lunge feeding. Very neat! 



With blue whales arriving and so many different species of whales being viewed the sea is alive with the sounds and sights of our big buddies.

Our 1pm Whale Watching trip today (11/26/14) had a Killer Whale show of a lifetime! Captain Ben Wagner (of the Patriot) mentioned the pod consisted of 10-12 whales in total spread around the boat. He was able to stay with at least 5 of the Killer Whales (including giant male orca and baby orca) heading back down the coast before he had to call it a day. Attached is a couple photos from today's trip.

BEST 3/4 Day fishing Newport Beach, California has had to date ..... Fish Report

Nautilus/Patriot & Aggressor called in with their stellar final fish counts for the day:

Nautilus grabbed 98 Yellowfin Tuna & 92 Skipjack Tuna for 31 anglers

Patriot pulled up 118 Yellowfin Tuna, 15 Skipjack Tuna & 5 Yellowtail for 33 anglers

Aggressor caught 37 Yellowfin Tuna & 12 skipjack Tuna for 19 anglers.


Our sister company, Davey's Locker, had two of their boats depart on 3/4 day trips today and they brought back a combined mixed bag of 400+ tuna & yellowtail for both boats combined.

The bite has been solid for the past two months and has ONLY GOTTEN BETTER AFTER SUMMER!
