Captain Jeff Markland on Thunderbird called in with update. Big schools of Bluefin tuna with mixed sixes from 40 pound class to well over 100+ pound class fish in the schools. They have hooked a good number of the giant Bluefin tuna with a reel loaded with 360 yards of 60 pound spectra getting completely spooled on big blue fin tuna.
After losing several of the jumbo Bluefin tuna they landed 100 pound Bluefin tuna on 30 pound test and over 1 hour battle. The reel at one point came off the rod but they were able to get it back on. There is huge volume/schools of blue fin tuna. The Thunderbird is full for tonight but has tuna trips all next week.
